Nicole Grant has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. In 2019, they co-founded San Luis Obispo Guide, a travel and tourism company focused on promoting the people, products, and places of San Luis Obispo County. As a small business owner, they were responsible for all aspects of business including operations, finance, and marketing. Nicole developed and built the company website, created all content for the website, and managed the website for performance. Nicole also created a social media strategy that saw the accounts achieve 10,000 followers across Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter within the first year. In 2018, they worked as an Administrative Assistant to the Dean of North County Campus & South County Center at Cuesta College. In this role, they provided complex operational, financial, and technical support to the Dean and interacted heavily with students, staff, faculty, and community in response to general inquiries, concerns, campus events, and ongoing campus management. From 2013-2018, they worked as a Professor of Training & Development at MINDBODY, Inc. where they delivered a three-week training program to new employees and developed lesson plans and learning rubrics to ensure the consistency of training and learning objectives. From 2012-2013, they worked as a Conference Center Office Manager at Cal Poly Corporation where they managed individual conference and events operations and provided financial processing and record keeping for project accounts. From 2006-2012, they worked at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation as a Program Assistant and HR Operations Coordinator/HR Assistant. In their Program Assistant role, they were the gatekeeper for complex calendar, travel, and expense management for Deputy Director and senior grant managers. In their HR Operations Coordinator/HR Assistant role, they oversaw onboarding operations for 1,000+ new employees and contractors and managed new, departed, and employee change data in HRIS. From 2005-2006, they worked as a Human Resources Assistant at Callison Architecture, Inc. where they managed all external postings of open positions, research of new advertising methods, and negotiation of contract terms with vendors. From 2003-2005, they worked as an Administrative Assistant at Business Careers where they provided administrative support to 20 employment consultants and directed 200-300 daily calls to 20 extensions. Finally, from 2000-2003, they worked as an Activity Leader, Music, at Mt. Vernon Elementary Magnet & Performing Arts Program where they taught three music classes and coordinated solos and duets for bi-annual student performances and celebrations.
Nicole Grant attended California State University, Bakersfield from 1999 to 2003, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies (Elementary Education).
