Gordon Tong

Gordon Tong serves as the Program Manager for Waste Reduction at the San Mateo County Sustainability Department, where responsibilities include managing waste reduction and diversion programs, overseeing an annual budget exceeding $2 million, and coordinating recycling initiatives. Previous roles include Acting Program Manager for Climate Change and Adaptation, Sustainability Coordinator, and various internships focused on sustainability and waste management. Gordon holds a Master of Environmental Science and Management from the Bren School at UC Santa Barbara and a Bachelor's degree from UC San Diego in Ecology, Behavior, Evolution, Environmental Policy, and Urban Studies and Planning.
