San Mateo County Sustainability Department
Jess Dominick currently serves as the Education and Outreach Sustainability Specialist at the San Mateo County Sustainability Department, managing the Youth Climate Ambassadors Leadership Program and field trip initiatives. Previously, Jess worked as a Sustainability Fellow with Bay Area Community Resources, overseeing various sustainability projects at Redwood High School. Experience at Stanford University included roles such as Technology Consultant, Creativity Consultant and Educator, Residential Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Preceptor, and First-Year Program Coordinator, providing technical support, managing budgets, and facilitating community-building activities. Jess also held leadership positions in organizations advocating for first-generation and/or low-income students and gained experience through internships at The Trust for Public Land and Powerhouse Science Center. Jess holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a focus on Architectural Design from Stanford University.

The San Mateo County Sustainability Department strives to improve the sustainability of the County’s operations and the greater community through work that is designed to bring solutions today while solving for tomorrow. The Sustainability Department has programs to help the county fight and prepare for climate change, ensure clean energy, water, and air, conserve resources for future generations through waste reduction, and support livable communities with affordable housing and infrastructure for biking, walking, and public transit.
