Josh Mello

Josh Mello, AICP, currently serves as the Executive Officer of Planning and Development at the San Mateo County Transit District, overseeing strategic and operational planning, transportation policy analysis, and real estate management. Previously, Mello worked at Google as the Transportation Planning & Infrastructure Lead, where responsibilities included developing transportation plans and budgets for the company’s facilities. Mello has held significant roles in various cities, including Chief Transportation Official for Palo Alto, Assistant Director of Planning - Transportation for Atlanta, and Associate Transportation Planner in Wilmington, NC. Additional experience includes positions at Alta Planning + Design, Community Opportunities Group, and the Boston Housing Authority, along with an AmeriCorps service commitment. Mello holds a Master’s degree in City Planning from Boston University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from UMass Boston.
