Heidi Queen, MD MPH has over 30 years of work experience in various roles and organizations. Heidi began their career as an Indian Health Service Sub-intern at El Rio Community Health Center in 1995. Heidi then served as a Principal Investigator and Medical Provider at Parirenyatwa Hospital and later became a Medical Consultant for Proyecto Aldeal Global at American Jewish World Service. In 1998, they completed their Emergency Medicine residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.

From 1988 to 2000, Dr. Queen held the position of Assistant Professor at UCSF and Clinical Instructor in Emergency Medicine at Stanford. During this time, they also became a Co-founder and Organizer of the Pediatric Gastric Tube Support Group. In 2000, they joined Vituity as a Senior Partner in Emergency Medicine.

In 2009, Dr. Queen became the Director of the Medical Scribe Program at Seton and San Mateo Medical Center. In 2012, they co-founded the nonprofit organization Chooda, where they served as Vice President of the Board of Directors and a Medical Advisor. Heidi played a pivotal role in raising over $1.2 million for Zambian charities and served as a team doctor for a 325-mile cycle ride in Zambia.

Since 2019, Dr. Queen has been working at Sutter Novato Community Hospital. Heidi has taken on multiple roles including Physician Coordinator of Pediatric Care, Physician Stroke Champion, and Physician Sepsis Champion. Heidi'sresponsibilities at Sutter Novato include establishing EMS Paramedic ED rotations, coordinating critical care transport and cardiac catheterization policies, analyzing and presenting trauma, stroke, pediatrics, and STEMI data at Marin EMS, and leading mass-casualty disaster drills.

Heidi Queen, MD, MPH has an extensive education history. Heidi first attended Wesleyan University from 1984 to 1988, where they earned their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree, majoring in Health Care, Psychology, and Pre-Med. During their time at Wesleyan University, they also spent a year abroad at University College, London, England, focusing on Clinical Psychology.

After completing their undergraduate studies, they enrolled in the Boston University School of Medicine from 1990 to 1995. Here, they obtained their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree, specializing in Medicine. Heidi concurrently pursued a Master's in Public Health (MPH) in Health Care Administration with a focus on International Health from the Boston University School of Public Health from 1990 to 1995.

In 1991, they earned a Certificate in International Health Care from the Boston University School of Public Health, specializing in International Health Policy and Development.

To further specialize in their field, Dr. Queen completed the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at UCLA, specifically at Harbor Medical Center, from 1995 to 1998.

In 2005, they obtained a Certificate in Life Care Planning from the Commission on Health Care Certification. This certification allowed their to develop integrated medical and social care plans for individuals with complicated medical illnesses.

Additionally, Dr. Queen holds the certification of American Board of Emergency Medicine Physician, which they obtained from the American Board of Emergency Medicine in January 1999.
