Carlos Cortez

Carlos Cortez has a diverse work experience history. Carlos began their career as a Programs Coordinator at Streetside Stories in 2013, where they oversaw relationships with site partners and managed contracts with school partners. Carlos then moved on to Operation Access, where they served as a Program Assistant and Office Manager, leading the client eligibility process and providing administrative support. Carlos then became a Program Coordinator at Operation Access, coordinating medical care for clients and overseeing relationships with community clinics and medical volunteers.

Afterwards, Carlos joined Clover Health as an Operations Coordinator, where they conducted claims-to-authorizations matching, performed payment dispute resolutions, and executed payment integrity audit research. Carlos also worked as an Operations Specialist at Clover Health, supporting the implementation of a prospective payment system and performing retrospective claims analysis.

Carlos's next position was at Omada Health as a Participant Support Specialist. In this role, they coordinated scheduling for remote support agents, identified areas for process improvement, and tracked ticket escalations.

Most recently, Carlos joined Sana as a Senior Operations Analyst. Carlos is responsible for overseeing the accurate processing of medical claims, leading the implementation of operational changes, and running monthly high dollar claims reports for clients.

Throughout their career, Carlos has demonstrated a strong ability to manage relationships, coordinate operations, and analyze data in order to improve processes and enhance customer experiences.

Carlos Cortez completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Health and Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley from 2008 to 2012. Carlos then pursued a Master of Arts (MA) in Urban Studies/Affairs at the University of San Francisco from 2015 to 2017. In 2019, Carlos attended General Assembly to acquire knowledge in Data Analytics.
