Krysia Christine Sapeta has extensive work experience in the field of geospatial technology and project management. Krysia Christine began their career at Analytical Surveys, Inc. in 1985, where they served as a Production Supervisor, overseeing the implementation of digital orthophoto production software and managing a team. Krysia Christine continued their career at the same company as a Project Manager until 1999.
In 1999, Sapeta joined Sanborn Map Company as a Senior Project Manager. Here, they managed various GIS mapping programs, including contract negotiations, quality assurance, and budget/schedule tracking. Krysia Christine also played a key role in business development activities, such as writing proposals and conducting presentations. Additionally, they successfully managed a 10-year, $10M project for the US Geological Survey.
Sapeta then joined Microsoft in 2008 as a Program Manager for the Virtual Earth project. Krysia Christine was responsible for the acquisition of geo-referenced imagery for the website, overseeing the planning, execution, and monitoring of street level photogrammetric imagery acquisition.
Krysia Christine returned to Sanborn Map Company in 2009, this time as the Director of Strategic Accounts. In this role, they developed customer relationships and provided customer service to government entities in the South and Southeast US. Krysia Christine played a crucial role in responding to prospective projects and creating strategic partnerships.
Throughout their career, Sapeta has demonstrated strong leadership skills, technical expertise in geospatial technology, and experience in managing multi-million dollar projects. Krysia Christine is a certified Professional (CP) and Project Management Professional (PMP), as well as a Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP).
Krysia Christine Sapeta, CP, PMP, SP, GISP, began their education in 1975 at the State University of New York College at Potsdam, where they studied Fine Arts. Krysia Christine completed their studies there in 1977. From 1980 to 1982, they attended Long Island University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Geology.
In addition to their formal education, Krysia has obtained several certifications. In 2004, they became a Project Management Professional through the Project Management Institute. In 2009, they received the Surveyor Photogrammetrist certification from the Commonwealth of Virginia. In 2010, they obtained the GIS Professional certification from the GIS Certification Institute (GISCI). Finally, in 1998, they became an ASPRS Certified Photogrammetrist through the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing.
