Chris Poole is an accomplished business development professional with extensive experience in the care sector. Currently serving as the Director of Business Development at Sanctuary Group since May 2017, Chris also holds the position of Chair of the Board at Active Prospects UK since September 2022. Previous roles include Regional Operations Director (Interim) at The Orders of St John Care Trust and Caring Homes Group, as well as Operations Director at Friends of the Elderly. Chris has demonstrated leadership as the CEO of Karis Neighbour Scheme and has contributed to strategy and innovation at World Vision. Additional experience includes roles at Atkins and Arthur Steen Horne Adamson, showcasing a strong background in business improvement and operational management.

We are Sanctuary. We were set up more than 50 years ago and now provide housing and care in England and Scotland to more than a quarter of a million people, owning and managing around 120,000 units of accommodation. We exist to serve our customers and communities. Our mission is to build affordable homes and sustainable communities where people choose to live. We are a not-for-profit housing association, which means we don’t make profits for shareholders. Instead we invest all the income we make – every penny – into delivering on our social purpose. We play our part in tackling the national housing crisis by building good quality affordable homes all over the UK. We build to a wide variety of needs and styles, with the aim of creating or adding to a sustainable community. Our regeneration projects transform communities by listening to residents and putting their needs first.
