Jonathan Ellis

Jonathan Ellis has a diverse work experience in the startup and technology industry. Jonathan is the Founder and General Partner of Sandalphon Capital since 2016, where they lead and participates in early-stage funding rounds for B2B SaaS and Marketplace startups primarily in Chicago and the Midwest. Jonathan has a wide range of interests, including B2B/Enterprise SaaS, FinTech, InsurTech, RegTech, PropTech/Real Estate Tech, Tech-Enabled Healthcare Services or Healthcare IT, FoodTech, EdTech, and GovTech. Jonathan has also been involved in several board and observer roles in various companies, such as Stere, RoofMarketplace, ProsperStack, Havoc Shield, OpenVia, Visual Feeder, Throne Labs, and Vertex Software. In 2020, they founded midwest.tech, a virtual summit connecting Midwest startups, founders, VCs, and angel investors. Jonathan Ellis has a diverse education history. Jonathan began their educational journey at Stamford Endowed Schools, where they studied from 1992 to 2002. During this time, they did not obtain any specific degrees or focus on a particular field of study.

In 2002, Jonathan enrolled at Alliance Manchester Business School, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in International Management with American Business Studies. Jonathan successfully completed this program in 2006.

In the following year, 2004-2005, Jonathan attended The University of British Columbia for an exchange year. During this time, they focused on Management/Commerce studies and obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree.

Seeking further education, Jonathan pursued a Master of Finance degree at INSEAD from 2008 to 2011.

Additionally, Jonathan has acquired additional certifications in their professional development. In November 2018, they completed the "Interviewing Techniques" and "Performance-Based Hiring" certifications at LinkedIn.
