Carlos Aguilar Melchor has extensive work experience in scientific research and academia. Carlos is currently working as a Principal Research Scientist at both SandboxAQ and a quantum startup in stealth mode. Prior to these roles, Carlos held the position of Professor at ISAE-SUPAERO from 2018 to 2022. Before that, they served as an Associate Professor at ENSEEIHT from 2014 to 2018 and at Université de Limoges from 2009 to 2014. Carlos Aguilar Melchor earned their Master's degree in Engineering from École Polytechnique between 1999 and 2001. Carlos then pursued a Master of Science in Computer Science from Pierre and Marie Curie University from 2001 to 2002. Carlos furthered their education at Institut national des Sciences appliquées de Toulouse, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from 2002 to 2006. In 2012, they attended Université de Limoges and received a Habilitation to Steer Research (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches). Prior to their higher education, Carlos completed their High School Diploma at Lycée Français de Madrid from 1994 to 1996 and then attended Lycée Pierre De Fermat, where they completed their PCSI qualification from 1996 to 1999.
