Mary Pitman is a Staff Research Scientist at SandboxAQ, leading software development for simulation and AI tools in drug discovery and diagnostics since August 2023. Prior experience includes roles as a Principal Research Scientist and Research Scientist at Deep Forest Sciences, a Software Engineer at The Molecular Sciences Software Institute, and a MolSSI Software Fellow at UC Irvine. Additionally, Mary served as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at UC Irvine and held various teaching assistant positions during graduate studies at the University of Maryland. As a Research Fellow at the National Cancer Institute, contributions included developing quantitative insights into chromatin physics in cancer. Mary holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Maryland and a BS in Chemistry from The Catholic University of America.
