René Newton has a diverse work experience in project management, business analysis, and IT systems. Starting in 2005, they worked for the City of Albuquerque as a Systems Analyst, where they designed, implemented, and maintained the Oracle/PeopleSoft Customer Relationship Management module. In 2007, they served as the Applications Development Manager for the Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority, leading a conversion and implementation project for Oracle’s Customer Care and Billing software. René then worked as an HRIS PeopleSoft Computer Systems Analyst at GAITS, providing technical support and serving as a liaison between departments. They also served as an IT Project Manager at TEKsystems, an IT Business Analyst/PM at the State of New Mexico, and a Business Systems Analyst at SAIC. Recently, René worked as a Business Analyst at Encantado Technical Solutions, where they were involved in various IT projects. They are currently employed as an IS Engineering Project Manager at Sandia National Laboratories. René holds a Master of Organizational Leadership (MOL) degree and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
René Newton holds a Master of Organizational Leadership degree from Colorado Christian University, which was completed from 2013 to 2015. Prior to that, René completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communications and Business Management from The University of New Mexico, spanning from 1980 to 1984. Additionally, René obtained various certifications, including a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in 2022, a PMI PMP Exam Prep certification from Driven Leadership Solution in 2022, and an IT Information Library Foundations Certification (ITIL) from PeopleCert in 2021.
