Karen McDonnell

Karen McDonnell has extensive experience in the legal sector. Karen currently serves as the Vice President & General Counsel at Sandoz, a position they have held since March 2019. Prior to this role, Karen worked as the VP and Head of Legal Generics at Sandoz Inc. from September 2017 to March 2019. Before joining Sandoz, they were the General Counsel at GE Healthcare Life Sciences from September 2016 to September 2017. Karen also held various positions at GE Healthcare, including Chief Compliance Counsel, Associate General Counsel, and Senior Counsel, Compliance Life Sciences, between 2013 and 2016. Prior to their time at GE, they served as Vice President and Chief Counsel at Wyeth Research from 2006 to 2010, and as Deputy Chief Counsel, Research from 2004 to 2006. Karen began their career as an Associate at Pepper Hamilton LLP in 1994 and later became a Partner, specializing in Health Effects Litigation. Karen also worked as a Law Clerk to The Honorable J. William Ditter at the US District Court, EDPA, from 1992 to 1994.

Karen McDonnell attended Mount Saint Joseph Academy for their high school education. Karen then went on to study at the University of Pennsylvania, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and English Literature from 1985 to 1989. Following that, they pursued a Juris Doctor degree at Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law from 1989 to 1992.
