Derek Maassen

Derek Maassen is the current Director of Human Resources, Recruitment, and Safety at Sands Wall Systems. Prior to this role, Derek worked as a Principal at Sioux Falls School District and also held positions as an Administrator Intern and 4th Grade Teacher/Student Assistance Team Coordinator. Derek also has experience as a Groundskeeper and General Laborer at Hills Of Rest Memorial Park during breaks from school. Derek was also a Framer/Owner at Character Builders LLC, a construction company Derek co-founded with two other teachers. Derek holds a Master's Degree in K-12 Administration/Leadership from the University of South Dakota, as well as a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education and Special Education from the same university.
