Alexander Haväng is the Chief Technical Officer at Sandvine. Alexander has also worked as a developer analyst intern at the Canada Revenue Agency and as a teaching assistant for software engineering at Dalhousie University. From July 2017 to July 2019, they worked as a software engineer at JPMorgan Chase & Co., where they developed an analytical solution using Apache Spark, Solr, Java Spring micro-services & React that visualized client settlements after trading. Alexander also implemented a framework using Spark that converts Java functions to Spark jobs and executes it on the cluster, which is currently used by more than 13 applications as their core executor engine for running spark jobs. In addition, they increased performance scalability by ~200% and improved service response time from ~8s to ~1s by migrating a traditional application to Big Data compliant using Apache Sqoop, Kafka, Solr, Spark, Hadoop, and Java Spring.

Alexander Haväng has a Master's degree in Computer Science (Applied - MACS) from Dalhousie University. Alexander also has a Bachelor's Degree in Information and Technology from Dwarkadas J. Sanghvi College of Engineering. In addition, they have certifications from Coursera in Building Scalable Java Microservices with Spring Boot, LinkedIn in React.js Essential Training, Coursera in Hadoop infrastructure and frameworks by UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA SAN DIEGO, Pluralsight in Fundamentals of Apache Spark, and Microsoft in Microsoft Trainee Associate (MTA).
