Leon Millholland has extensive law enforcement experience, currently serving as a Sergeant in the Public Information Office at Sandy Springs Police since October 2010. Over the course of a career that includes various roles such as Sergeant in the Traffic Unit and Patrol Division, and Street Crimes Detective, Leon has successfully coordinated officer scheduling, monitored overtime, approved timesheets, and prioritized daily activities. Additionally, experience in the Marine Forces Reserve as a Marine Officer and Helicopter Mechanic, as well as roles at Dawson County Sheriff's Office, including Deputy Sheriff and Criminal Investigator, has further enhanced Leon's expertise. Academic qualifications include a Master of Arts in Management from National University and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Kennesaw State University.
Sandy Springs Police
The Sandy Springs Police Department (SSPD) was created in 2006 and serves the community with 148 sworn officers. Sandy Springs Police Department Operations are coordinated by two districts: North and South. The districts are commanded by the patrol Captain who is supported by Lieutenants. The patrol division is complemented by specialty units including Street Crimes Unit (SCU), Traffic Unit, Special Investigations Unit (SIU), and the Criminal Investigations Division (CID). The SSPD has several specialty vehicles and equipment including the river response boat, Rhino ATV units, river kayaks, and an armored vehicle for tactical response.
