Security Manager at City of Sandy Springs

Jay Sausmer, GA-CEM, currently serves as the Security Manager for the City of Sandy Springs since November 2024. With extensive experience in emergency management and security, Jay has been an Adjunct Instructor for the Georgia Emergency Management Agency/Homeland Security since April 2006, focusing on Advanced GA-CEM terrorism-related courses. Jay previously held the position of Director of Security at The Alfred and Adele Davis Academy from September 2017 to November 2024, where efforts were established to liaise with emergency management and law enforcement agencies. Additionally, Jay contributed as a POST-certified Patrol/Field Training Officer for the Fulton County Police Department from June 1994 to November 2024, becoming a Field Training Officer from 1999 to 2005. As an Investigator/Task Force Coordinator, Jay investigated international terrorism matters from 2005 to 2017, collaborating with various agencies to address security threats. Jay holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Norwich University and pursued further education at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology from 2001 to 2006.
