Diane M. Klotz, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning over several organizations and roles. Diane M. currently serves as the Chief Learning Officer at Sanford Burnham Prebys, where they contribute to the educational strategy and oversees the Institute's approach to designing and delivering educational and professional development programs. Additionally, they serve as the executive sponsor for diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Prior to this, they held positions as the Associate Dean of Administration and Professional Development and the Director of the Office of Education, Training, and International Services at Sanford Burnham Prebys.
Outside of Sanford Burnham Prebys, Dr. Klotz worked as a Leadership and Team-Building Consultant as a self-employed professional. Diane M. also served as a member and chair of the Advisory Council and as the Chair of the Board of Directors at the National Postdoctoral Association. Diane M.'swork experience also includes being a member of the External Scientific Panel for the BEST Award Program at the National Institutes of Health. Diane M. has previous experience as the Director of the Office of Fellows' Career Development and Assistant Director of the Center for Rodent Genetics at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), where they conducted research focused on estrogen receptor and growth factor signaling pathways.
Diane M. Klotz, PhD obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Genetics from the University of Maryland, where they studied from 1987 to 1991. Diane M. then pursued their PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology at Tulane University from 1991 to 1995.
In addition to their academic achievements, Diane has also obtained various certifications throughout their career. In 2012, they became a Certified Pilates Teacher through the Pilates Method Alliance. Diane M. later obtained the Everything DiSC Certified Facilitator certification from Everything DiSC: A Wiley Brand in 2012. In 2017, Diane completed the Certificate for Negotiation and Leadership from the Harvard Program on Negotiation. In 2018, they became a Certified MBTI Practitioner through The Myers & Briggs Foundation.
Most recently, Diane obtained several certifications related to conflict management and change management. In 2020, they received the Certification in Conflict Management and Change Management from Kilmann Diagnostics, as well as the Certification in the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument from the same institution. Diane M. also obtained the Influence Style Change (ISI) Certification from OKA (Otto Kroeger Associates) in 2020.
