Juan Piña-Crespo

Juan Piña-Crespo, PhD, is a seasoned scientist with extensive experience in neuroscience and electrophysiology. Currently serving as a Senior Scientist and Manager at the Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute since July 2022, Juan leads a team focused on electrophysiological assays related to neurodegeneration. Previously, Juan held positions at Scripps Research as a Senior Scientist and Laboratory Operations Manager, as well as a Scientist within the Department of Molecular Medicine. Earlier roles include significant contributions at the Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute, Salk Institute for Biological Studies, and academic positions at Universidad Centro Occidental 'Lisandro Alvarado' and the University of San Diego. Juan's academic credentials include a PhD in Pharmacology from University College London and a veterinary degree from Universidad Centro Occidental 'Lisandro Alvarado'.
