Sanan Pillay Frm

Sanan Pillay, FRM has a diverse work experience in the finance industry. Sanan began their career as a Winter Intern at Sanlam Investments in 2015. Sanan then joined Ned Doman High School as a Teaching Assistant, where they assisted in mathematics instruction and education for students with special learning requirements. Returning to Sanlam Investments, Sanan started as a Trainee Investment Analyst before being promoted to Investment Analyst. In this role, they conducted research and due diligence on various funds, including both traditional approaches and alternative investments such as hedge funds and private equity. Currently, Sanan holds the role of Head of Alternatives Research at Sanlam Investments, overseeing and directing the research of local and global alternative strategies such as hedge funds, private equity, and infrastructure.

Sanan Pillay, FRM, obtained their Bachelor of Business Science degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Cape Town. Sanan attended the university from 2012 to 2015. In addition to their degree, Pillay also holds a certification as a Certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM) from the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP). Sanan obtained this certification in February 2022.
