Makoto Nagao

Based in Sanne’s Japan office, Makoto Nagao is Director of Business Development responsible for building and maintaining client and intermediary relationships, business development and oversee service delivery to various distribution channels in Japan.

Prior to joining Sanne Nagao-san spent 35 years at Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, SMFG. In that time Nagao-san worked across a range of roles including General Manager for Shinjuku Corporate Banking. At Sumitomo Mitsui Asset Management, Nagao-san drove the organisation forward in his role as the Executive Senior Managing Director with responsibility for business planning. SMFG is one of Japan’s leading fully integrated financial services firms and SMAM, as part of the parent organisation of SMFG, is one of Japan’s largest asset managers. Nagao-san also worked at State Street Trust and Banking in the position of Managing Director of Business Development.
