Aafke Huizenga

Aafke Huizenga is an experienced professional in Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and Compliance, currently serving as the Manager of QA/RA & Compliance at Sanquin since January 2025. Aafke leads the development of a specialized unit focused on risk-based decision-making and operational excellence across various domains. Prior experience includes roles as Senior Regulatory Affairs Manager and Head of Regulatory Affairs at Dechra, where Aafke managed integration projects and a diverse team while implementing new veterinary legislation. Aafke's extensive background also features management positions at Le Vet B.V., overseeing product registrations in multiple regions and establishing quality management systems, along with experience at Genzyme Europe B.V. in managing clinical trials. Aafke holds an Ing degree in Biomedical Research from Hogeschool Leiden.
