James Lyne

James Lyne currently serves as the Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer and Chief Technology Officer at SANS Institute, where involvement spans from May 2013 to the present, along with roles as a Certified Instructor. Additionally, Lyne is the Chief Executive Officer of Helical Levity since January 2015, focusing on developing gamified cyber security games for young adults. Previous experience includes a tenure at Sophos from August 2004 to May 2019, where responsibilities included Global Head of Security Research, Director of Technology Strategy, and leading various technology initiatives. Contributions to the Cyber Security Challenge UK from May 2010 to May 2019 involved technologist and competition writer roles aimed at addressing the skills gap in the security sector.
