John Hubbard

John Hubbard is a seasoned cybersecurity professional with extensive experience in instruction, course development, and operational leadership. Currently, as a Senior Instructor and Course Author at the SANS Institute since July 2015, John has authored several courses on cybersecurity including SEC450 and MGT551, and has been involved in various teaching engagements. Prior to this role, John served as a SOC Analyst at GlaxoSmithKline Pharma GmbH, specializing in threat hunting and malware analysis. John's earlier career included diverse engineering roles at BAE Systems, where participation in the Engineering Leadership Development Program provided a broad experience across multiple engineering disciplines. Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and a Master of Engineering in Computer Engineering with a focus on Network Security from Binghamton University.
