Maxim Deweerdt

Maxim Deweerdt is a seasoned cybersecurity professional currently serving as a Principal Instructor and Certified Instructor at the SANS Institute since December 2017. Deweerdt also holds the position of Global Head of Solution Engineering and Head of Service Delivery & Customer Success at NVISO Security since June 2020, and is a member of the Security Operations Center Work Group for the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) as of March 2023. Previous roles include CSOC Manager ad interim at UCB, OT Cyber Security Expert at Nawah Energy Company, and Cyber Defense Incident Response Lead at an undisclosed company. Deweerdt's earlier career includes serving as Technical Team Lead for CERT.be, a City Council Member for Stad Roeselare, and a Security Consultant at PwC Belgium. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Computer Science in Networking & IT-Security from Howest University College, a CCNP certificate from HUB-EHSAL, and a Higher Education certificate in Modern Languages - Science from Klein Seminarie Roeselare.
