Rosa Ponce de Leon is an experienced law enforcement leader currently serving as Commander at the Santa Ana Police Department since February 2015, where responsibilities include managing field operations and fostering a healthy workplace culture. Previously, Rosa held roles such as Internal Affairs Inspector, focused on increasing transparency, and Police Sergeant, overseeing critical operations and mentoring upcoming leaders. Additionally, Rosa is the Founder and CEO of Empower to Bloom, Inc., specializing in leadership strategy and culture consulting aimed at building high-performance teams. Prior experience includes positions with Homeland Security, where Rosa enhanced resilience against threats and managed training programs for emergency responders. Rosa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UCLA and an MBA from the University of Redlands.

The Santa Ana Police Department is a full service police department with a full operational jail staffed by civilian Correction Officers. Santa Ana Police Department is comprised of more than 300 officers and over 200 civilian employees. The department currently has 50 fully funded sworn officer vacancies and numerous civilian vacancies. The opportunity to join a police department where you will rapidly gain seniority has never been greater. We anticipate hiring at least 125 sworn officers over the next 3 years to fill current vacancies and anticipated retirements. The Santa Ana Police Department handles approximately 11,000 calls for service each month and provides full service operations in various divisions such as: Patrol, Traffic, General Investigations, Special Investigations, Training and others.
