The Santa Ana Police Department is a full service police department with a full operational jail staffed by civilian Correction Officers. Santa Ana Police Department is comprised of more than 300 officers and over 200 civilian employees. The department currently has 50 fully funded sworn officer vacancies and numerous civilian vacancies. The opportunity to join a police department where you will rapidly gain seniority has never been greater. We anticipate hiring at least 125 sworn officers over the next 3 years to fill current vacancies and anticipated retirements.

The Santa Ana Police Department handles approximately 11,000 calls for service each month and provides full service operations in various divisions such as: Patrol, Traffic, General Investigations, Special Investigations, Training and others.

The Forensics and Analysis team at the Santa Ana Police Department is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting physical evidence from crime scenes. This specialized team, consisting of Forensic Specialists and Crime Analysts, plays a crucial role in supporting criminal investigations by providing expert evaluations and detailed reports on findings to aid in solving cases and securing convictions.
