Elisabeth Cafritz

Elisabeth (Tessa) Cafritz is a dedicated professional in the field of environmental education and animal care, currently serving as the Naturalist and Volunteer Program Manager at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History and Sea Center since January 2023. With prior experience as a Reptile Discovery Center Husbandry and Behavior Intern at Smithsonian's National Zoo, Elisabeth developed expertise in animal care and training. Elisabeth has a solid background in education, having served as a Middle School Science Teacher at Lab School Of Washington and Guest Engagement Coordinator at Audubon Nature Institute. Elisabeth holds a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science and Classical Civilization from Emory University and is pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching in Biological Sciences at Miami University. Throughout various roles at institutions like the Alaska SeaLife Center and Zoo Atlanta, Elisabeth demonstrated strong leadership skills in supervising teams, developing educational programs, and promoting environmental stewardship.
