Abbie Carter

Abbie Carter is an experienced educator currently working at the Santa Barbara Zoo since June 2022, where the focus is on leading children aged three to sixteen in activities that promote understanding of animals, nature, and conservation. Prior to this role, Abbie served as a Student Researcher at Westmont College from May 2022 to December 2022, contributing to the Ridley-Tree Museum of Art by writing piece descriptions and artist biographies for a new collection. Abbie's earlier experiences include working as a Camp Counselor at Camp Bow Wow, where supervision and care for dogs were primary responsibilities, as well as a Nanny for four children, and a Canine Coach at Dogtopia, ensuring the well-being of dogs in a play setting. Abbie is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Art History at Westmont College, having previously graduated cum laude from Great Hearts Academies - Veritas Preparatory with a high school diploma.
