Matthew Tinsley

Matthew Tinsley is an experienced professional in early childhood education and health leadership, currently serving as the Director 1 of Strong Start at the Santa Clara County Office of Education since April 2010. Tinsley leads a multi-organization partnership aimed at enhancing access to high-quality early learning for children aged 0 to 8 in Santa Clara County. Prior roles include Senior Research Analyst at the same office, a Leader in the Culture of Health Leaders program, Consultant for the Los Angeles County Office of Education, and various research scientist positions at Cortex Pharmaceuticals and Roche Palo Alto LLC. Tinsley's educational background includes a BSc in Psychology from the University of Adelaide, a PhD in Behavioral Neuroscience from Indiana University Bloomington, post-doctoral research at UCLA, and a certificate in School Business Management from the University of Southern California.
