Arthur Liebscher S.j.

Arthur Liebscher S.J. has had a distinguished career at Santa Clara University since September 1986, serving in various roles, including Jesuit Alumni Liaison/Chaplain, Professor of History Emeritus, and Rector of the Jesuit Community. With a robust background in history and theology, Arthur coordinated the Department of History's instructional program and directed the University Honors Program, while also providing pastoral care and mentoring to students. Prior to this, Arthur served in important ecclesiastical and educational positions across various institutions, contributing extensive research on Latin American history and social issues within the Argentine Catholic Church. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in History from Indiana University and advanced degrees in theology and philosophy from Jesuit institutions.
