Brian Green

Brian Green serves as the Director of Technology Ethics at the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics at Santa Clara University since March 2011, directing initiatives in technology ethics and collaborating with tech companies and industry leaders. In addition, Green teaches AI Ethics as an Adjunct Faculty Member in the School of Engineering and has taught various graduate-level ethics courses. Previously, Green held roles including Assistant Director of Campus Ethics at the Markkula Center and Research Assistant at Stanford University. Brian's early career includes teaching at Jesuit Volunteers International and conducting research internships at Genentech and UC Davis. Green holds a PhD and an MA in Ethics and Social Theory from the Graduate Theological Union and a BS in Genetics from the University of California, Davis.
