Michelle McCully is an accomplished academic with extensive experience in the field of biology. Since August 2016, Michelle has served as an Associate Professor of Biology at Santa Clara University, after an earlier role as Assistant Professor of Biology at the same institution. Prior to this, from October 2012 to June 2016, Michelle was a STRIDE/IRACDA Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California, San Francisco, where research focused on structurally characterizing gp41, a component of HIV's envelope protein, utilizing molecular dynamics simulations and structural methods to aid vaccine design efforts in the Bill DeGrado Lab. Michelle holds a Ph.D. in Biomolecular Structure and Design from the University of Washington and a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis.
