Kai-t Blue-Sky is an experienced educator and wildlife biologist, currently serving as a High School Teacher at Santa Fe Indian School since 2017, specializing in subjects such as Biology, Ecology, and Astronomy with a focus on Traditional Ecological Knowledge. Prior experience includes roles as a Wildlife Biologist for Cochiti Pueblo, where responsibilities involved developing fish and wildlife management programs, and for Tesuque Pueblo, overseeing habitat restoration and wildlife surveys. Kai-t also served as a Fisheries Biologist at Mescalero Apache Tribal Fish Hatchery, managing operations and collaborating on conservation projects. Earlier career work includes coordinating environmental initiatives through Americorps, founding the Indigenous Nations Environmental Youth Alliance, and facilitating educational projects with tribal students. Kai-t holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Fisheries and Wildlife Science from New Mexico State University.
