Peter McWain

Peter McWain is an experienced educator with a robust background in curriculum development and instructional leadership. Currently serving as the Executive Director for Curriculum & Instruction at Santa Fe Public Schools since October 2017, Peter has held various roles in educational settings, including Director of Curriculum and Instruction and Instructional Coach. Prior to Santa Fe Public Schools, Peter worked at Carlsbad Intermediate School as Assistant Principal and held positions such as Head Principal and Dean of Students at Carlsbad Early College High School. Additional experience includes teaching roles in science at multiple schools, adjunct professor positions, and participation in accreditation teams. Peter holds a Master of Educational Leadership & Policy Studies from The University of Texas at Arlington, an M.S. Ed. in Geology/Education from the State University of New York Cortland, and a Bachelor of Science in Earth Science Teacher Education from Grand Valley State University.
