Joe Puentes

Joe Puentes, Psy.D., is a Clinical and Sport Psychologist currently providing counseling and sport psychology services to student athletes at San Jose State University while promoting mental wellness within the athletics department. As the owner of Performance Psychology Center since 2013, Joe specializes in individual therapy for athletes and high-pressure professionals, offering mental skills training and consulting for various sports organizations. Joe has also held roles such as Clinical Supervisor at Santa Rosa Junior College, Adjunct Faculty at Meridian University, and Staff Psychologist at Sonoma State University, where extensive outreach programming and mental health initiatives were developed. Educationally, Joe obtained a Psy.D. in Clinical-Community Psychology from the University of La Verne and a BA in Psychology from Point Loma Nazarene University.
