About

The Educational Services team at Santa Rosa City Schools District supports the academic and holistic development of students through a collaborative effort encompassing multilingual education, special education, and career technical education. The team works to ensure equity, growth, and assessment accuracy, providing resources and overseeing programs from early childhood to high school, including English learner support, comprehensive education plans, technical training, and visual and performing arts. Key roles include directors, specialists, executive administrators, and teachers on special assignments who collectively strive to meet diverse student needs and enhance educational outcomes district-wide.

I’ve been kissed on the cheek by Lloyd Bridges during a tennis match when I was 10. A few years later during a tennis match as a ball girl, I was hit by a serve/ace by John McEnroe.

I love to swim in the San Francisco Bay.


I’ve volunteered at my children's High School as the President of Project Grad, while having 3 seniors.

I used to teach music! I still do, but I used to, too. I also play drums, which is the best instrument. There's no wrong notes!

How do you like to receive feedback?

I like to receive feedback through conversation in a timely manner with specific examples and a roadmap toward improvement.


Directly, in person, and within a lens for growth.


I respect when feedback is direct, thoughtful and absolutely honest. Being able to trust the integrity of the communication allows me to hear and then integrate whatever needs to be said.

If you didn't have this job, what would you be doing instead?

I'd be a fashion designer!


I would be working in an assisted living home with the elderly, or working at one of the SRCS District Child Care Programs, as a Lead Person with children.

Can you describe a typical day of yours?

Erik

I teach for an hour at one of our elementary schools, drive to 2 other elementary schools to pick up and drop off instruments/materials, drive to the office and spend a few hours writing curricula, maintaining our instrument library, or planning events, then drive out for an afternoon meeting at the district office or one of our middle/high schools.
