Mike Traphagen

Mike Traphagen has a strong background in communications and public relations. Most recently, they have been serving as the Director of Communications for the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians since October 2022. Prior to this role, Mike worked at the Chumash Casino Resort for over 10 years, starting as a Public Relations Specialist in May 2012 and eventually becoming the Senior Public Relations Manager in December 2020. Before joining the casino industry, they worked as a Web Producer and Copy Editor for Miller-McCune Magazine from December 2007 to May 2012. In addition, they served as a Copy Editor for Hispanic Business Inc. from September 2006 to December 2007 and worked as a Sports Writer for the Santa Barbara News-Press from September 2000 to September 2006.

Mike Traphagen obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Journalism from San Jose State University, which they pursued from 1995 to 1998.
