Michael Caponegro

Michael Caponegro has a diverse work experience in the fields of computational biology, data science, oncology biomarker development, and laboratory research.

Michael is currently working as a Computational Biologist at Santa Ana Bio, Inc, starting in November 2022.

Prior to this, they worked at Vindhya Data Science as a Data Scientist from May 2021 to November 2022, and also from November 2021 to November 2022.

Before that, they served as a Scientist in Oncology Biomarker Development at Genentech from August 2021 to November 2021.

Michael worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Gladstone Institutes from December 2020 to July 2021.

Michael gained research experience as a Doctoral Student at Stony Brook University from January 2016 to October 2020.

Earlier in their career, they worked as a Quality Control Laboratory Technician at NBTY from July 2013 to August 2014.

Michael Caponegro's education history begins in 2009 when they enrolled in SUNY Oneonta and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry in 2013. Michael then pursued further education at Stony Brook University, where they completed a Master's degree in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from 2014 to 2016. After that, they continued their studies at Stony Brook University and completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology from 2016 to 2020.

In addition to their degrees, Michael Caponegro obtained two advanced graduate certificates from Stony Brook University. In May 2020, they received an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Biomedical Informatics, and in June 2018, they obtained an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Scholars in Biomedical Sciences.
