Asher Grevler

Asher Grevler is the current Chief Risk Officer at Santam Ltd. Prior to this, they were Head of Financial Risk Management at Santam Insurance from July 2004 to July 2018. In this role, they were responsible for developing and maintaining the internal model, determining technical reserves, producing the ORSA report, leading the IMAP process, and optimizing the reinsurance structure and pricing framework. Asher also assisted with acquisitions of other insurance companies and books of business.

Grevler began their actuarial career at Swiss Re in the United Kingdom in 1996 as a Pricing Actuary. In 2001, they moved to the United States to work as a Consulting Actuary at Tillinghast where they were responsible for embedded value for life insurers, cashflow models for HMOs, health product pricing, and experience analysis on large data sets.

Asher Grevler has a CERA designation from the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in Enterprise Risk Management. They also have a FIA designation from the Institute of Actuaries. They have a B.Bus.Sci degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Cape Town.
