Walter O'Hayer

Walter O'Hayer is a Senior Exploration Geologist with extensive experience in oil and gas exploration, currently working at Santos Ltd since March 2019. In the North Slope, Alaska, Walter has led exploration efforts resulting in commercial discoveries through the maturation and drilling of two exploration wells, Mitquq 1 and Mitquq 1 ST1. Previous experience includes a role as Senior Staff Exploration Geologist at Chevron, where Walter evaluated new ventures and successfully matured multiple exploration wells in West Africa and the Deepwater Gulf of Mexico. Walter began a career in exploration geology at EP Energy in Egypt and holds a Master of Science degree from Rice University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State University.
