Orla Brennan

Senior QA Manager & Project Manager-Tech Transfers at Saol Therapeutics

Orla Brennan has held a number of roles in the pharmaceutical and research industries since 2008. Orla began their career at An Post as an Electronic Mail Sorting Personal in 2006. In 2007, they were awarded a Scholarship at the University of Toronto, where they investigated ClpX degradation under oxidative stress in vivo. In 2008, they held a Studentship at NUI Galway and worked as a Clinical Research Assistant and Quality Assurance Auditor at Alkermes (formerly Elan Corporation plc). From 2013 to 2015, they were a Project Manager and Method Development Department and Microbiology Department at Charles River Laboratories. Orla then worked as a Product Development Scientist in the Research and Development Department at DiaSorin from 2015 to 2017. In 2017, they joined Pfizer as a QA Team Lead and QA Specialist in Tech Transfers and is currently a Senior QA Manager and Project Manager-Tech Transfers at Saol Therapeutics.

Orla Brennan began their educational journey in 1999, when they attended St Josephs College Secondary School in Co. Westmeath. Orla then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Biotechnology Hons from the University of Galway in 2004-2008. After that, they attended Trinity College Dublin from 2008-2012, where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Molecular Microbiology. In 2009-2010, they also earned a Diploma in Statistics from Trinity College Dublin. From 2013-2014, they attended the University of Galway and earned a Specialist Postgraduate Diploma in Lean and Quality Systems. In 2015-2017, they attended the Institute of Technology, Sligo and earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Industrial Pharmaceutical Science. Finally, in 2014, they earned a Green Belt Certificate in Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from Quality America, Inc.
