Christos Kitsoulis has a diverse work experience in the field of bioinformatics and biology. Christos is currently working as a Bioinformatics Associate Developer at Saphetor since March 2023. Prior to this role, they served as a Production Support Bioinformatics Intern at the same company from September 2022 to March 2023.
Before joining Saphetor, Christos worked as a Master Thesis Student at the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research. Christos'sthesis involved constructing the de novo reference genome of devil firefish using both short and long reads. Christos conducted this research in collaboration with the Genomics and Bioinformatics Group in IMBBC and the Computational Biology Lab at the School of Medicine, University of Crete. Christos held this position from September 2021 to August 2022.
From October 2019 to June 2020, Christos worked as a Biologist in the Hellenic Army.
Earlier in their career, they served as a Research Assistant at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) from April 2019 to May 2020. During this time, they co-authored a journal article on evolutionary biology and cancer in vertebrates. Christos also worked as a Thesis Student at AUTH from November 2017 to March 2019, where they conducted an undergraduate dissertation under the supervision of T. J.
Christos Kitsoulis completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biology from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) between 2014 and 2019. Christos then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Bioinformatics from the University of Crete, which they completed between 2020 and 2022. In addition to their academic qualifications, Kitsoulis possesses several certifications, including a Lifeguard Certificate from Bayline Services obtained in April 2017, a Certificate of participation in a research project from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) obtained in December 2014, and a Certificate of Proficiency in English from the University of Michigan obtained in July 2012.
