Lance McDonald

Lance also acted as the technical Product owner and collaborated with other business areas to prioritize and align features. During this time, Lance expanded the use of AWS capabilities and services, incorporating serverless concepts such as Lambda, SQS, and Aurora RDS using the PostGres engine.

Before joining Sapphire Digital, Lance worked as a Solutions Architect, where they were responsible for incorporating an externally managed codebase into the Sapphire stack following an acquisition of a startup. Lance implemented source control and CI/CD patterns and successfully migrated hosting to AWS. Additionally, they refactored and abstracted concepts of the original application into services that could be utilized across the Sapphire platform.

Lance's earlier work experience includes roles at Health Dialog, where they held positions such as Director of Application Development and Senior Manager of Application Development. In these roles, they oversaw multiple engineering teams and collaborated with executive leadership on strategic partnerships. Lance also managed software engineering teams and worked with vendors to integrate critical functionality into Health Dialog's coaching platform.

Prior to Health Dialog, Lance worked as a Senior Software Developer at WebMD, a Software Developer at HealthShare Technology, and a Software Developer at Gold Wire Technology. Lance also gained experience as a Software Developer at Scient, where they were involved in web development projects and collaborated with external subject matter experts and consultants to deliver solutions.
