Kathy de Git, PhD, has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Kathy is currently working as a Scientific Writer at Sapreme Technologies BV since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Medical Writer at Avania from 2020 to 2022, where they managed clinical studies for medical devices, IVDs, biologics, and device-drug combination products. Kathy also had a brief stint as a Medical Writer at Factory-CRO Group in 2020.
From 2018 to 2019, Kathy embarked on a traveling adventure across different countries including New Zealand, Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Japan, Egypt, and Canada. Kathy gained valuable personal and cultural experiences during this time.
Before their travels, Kathy served as a PhD Candidate in Translational Neuroscience at UMC Utrecht from 2014 to 2018. Their research focused on investigating how individual differences in leptin sensitivity predict the susceptibility for the development of diet-induced obesity. Kathy utilized various techniques including behavioural and metabolic analyses, viral vector technology, pharmacological interventions, and molecular techniques.
In 2012, Kathy worked as a Research Intern in Animal, Welfare and Society at Utrecht University, where they studied individual differences in alcohol intake in relation to risky decision making in a rat gambling task. Kathy conducted behavioural analyses and implemented pharmacological interventions.
Prior to this, Kathy held the position of Research Intern in Medical Physiology at UMC Utrecht from 2011 to 2012. In this role, they investigated drug-induced potassium ion channel trafficking defects causing Torsade de Pointes arrhythmias. Kathy worked with cell lines and utilized molecular techniques for their research, and also contributed to a literature review for scientific publication.
Kathy de Git, PhD, has an extensive education history. Kathy started their academic journey at College de Heemlanden, where they completed their Atheneum degree in 2008 with cum laude honors. Following this, they enrolled at Utrecht University to pursue their Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences, which they also completed with cum laude honors in 2011.
Motivated by their passion for the field, Kathy continued their studies at Utrecht University and obtained a Master of Science degree in Biology of Disease with cum laude honors in 2013. Their focus during their master's studies is not provided.
Driven by their commitment to furthering their knowledge in neuroscience, Kathy pursued a Doctor of Philosophy degree at Utrecht University and successfully completed their PhD in 2018. Their doctoral research specifically focused on the field of neuroscience.
