Jerusha Beckerman

Interim Director, Art of Teaching Program at Sarah Lawrence College

Jerusha (Rue) Beckerman currently serves as the Director and Full-Time Guest Faculty in the Art of Teaching M.S. Ed. program at Sarah Lawrence College, a position held since June 2017. In this role, Jerusha Beckerman teaches graduate courses and contributes to the administration of the program. Prior to this, Jerusha Beckerman was an Adjunct Faculty member at Westchester Community College from September 2016 to June 2020, where courses focused on Early Childhood and Elementary Education were taught. Jerusha Beckerman has classroom experience as a 4th/5th Grade Teacher and a 2nd/3rd Grade Teacher at The Ella Baker School, along with various teaching positions at Basic Trust Childcare Center. Jerusha Beckerman also engaged in a fellowship at the Prospect Archives at the University of Vermont. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Early Childhood & Elementary Education from Sarah Lawrence College and a Bachelor's degree in French Studies and Creative Writing from Bard College.
