Michelle Shirey

Michelle Shirey has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Michelle began their career as a Nuclear Cardiology Chief Tech/Manager at Cardiology Group of WNY in 2001. From 2005 to 2011, they served as the Director of Ancillary Services at Buffalo Medical Group PC. Michelle then worked as an Area Practice Manager at HCA Healthcare from 2011 to 2012. Michelle joined Moffitt Cancer Center in 2012 as the Practice and Business Manager for Imaging Services. In 2013, they joined Sarasota Memorial Health Care System, where they held roles such as Director of Operations and Administrator for First Physicians Group. Michelle was promoted to Executive Director of First Physicians Group in 2017. Currently, Michelle serves as the Chief Operating Officer at First Physicians Group of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System, leading a large team and overseeing various practices. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated strong leadership skills and accomplished key initiatives related to team realignment, contracting, and establishing new business lines.

Michelle Shirey holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in healthcare from the New York Institute of Technology, which they obtained from 2006 to 2008. Michelle also earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology from the University at Buffalo, attending from 1984 to 1988. Additionally, Michelle has acquired certifications such as FACMPE and CMPE from MGMA/ACMPE in 2015 and 2014, respectively.
