Derek Rau

Derek Rau is an experienced professional in the biopharmaceutical industry, currently serving as Associate Director of Manufacturing Technical Services at Sarepta Therapeutics since January 2013. Rau's expertise includes drug substance synthesis and purification, providing technical support for quality investigations of both commercial and pre-commercial products. Previous roles at Sarepta include Senior Manager of External Manufacturing and Manager in Manufacturing Sciences and Technology, as well as key contributions in global supply chain management and technology development. Rau also has research experience from Oregon State University, where work focused on organocatalysis, and served as a wildland forest firefighter with the U.S. Forest Service. Rau holds a Bachelor of Science in Organic Chemistry from Oregon State University and an Associate of Arts from Rogue Community College.
