Job Overview
We are seeking a Director of Corporate Development to lead strategic initiatives that drive growth and expansion for our autonomous surface vessels. You will play a critical role in identifying and evaluating acquisition and investment opportunities, developing partnerships, and overseeing strategic planning activities. A strong background in M&A, corporate finance, strategic planning, and business development within the defense or technology sectors, with a proven track record of successful deal execution is ideal.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement corporate strategies aligned with the company's long-term goals. Conduct market analysis and competitive intelligence to identify growth opportunities and potential risks
- Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A): Lead the identification, evaluation, and execution of acquisition and investment opportunities. Manage the M&A process, including due diligence, negotiation, and integration. Coordinate with legal, finance, and other relevant teams to ensure seamless transaction execution
- Partnership Development: Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships and alliances that support the company’s growth objectives. Negotiate and manage partnership agreements with technology providers and other key stakeholders to ensure mutual benefit and alignment with corporate goals
- Financial Analysis and Valuation: Conduct financial modeling, valuation analysis, and risk assessment for potential transactions. Prepare and present detailed reports and recommendations to senior management and the board of directors
- **Stakeholder Management:**Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, financial advisors, maritime/DoD industry experts, and technology partners. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for corporate development initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred
- 10+ years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or a related field
- Proven track record of successful M&A transactions and strategic partnership development in relevant industries
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
- Excellent negotiation and deal-making abilities
- Strategic thinker with a deep understanding of market dynamics and industry trends preferably in the maritime autonomous technology sectors
- Strong organizational and project management skills to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
