David Davis

EVP, CFO at SAS Institute

David Davis heads up SAS’ global financial operations, which consists of over 70 legal entities worldwide.

He is responsible for financial reporting, business analysis, and financial and operational planning.

Davis joined SAS in 1986 and has since held several management positions within the finance division. Prior to being named CFO, he was Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer, where he supported the company’s financial performance and accounting operations. While at SAS, Davis has driven many improvements to the company’s accounting operations, such as revenue recognition and internal controls.

As CFO, Davis interacts with all global business units, as well as with SAS’ customers, to drive collaboration and transparency for the company’s financial operations. In addition, he guides the controller, treasury, accounting, tax, and internal audit functions to pursue the company’s aggressive growth strategy.

Davis received a Bachelor of Science in business administration degree from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with a concentration in accounting. He is a former Certified Treasury Professional and an active member of the NCACPA.
